Soil humidity sensor for automatic irrigation control 12V DC

This soil moisture sensor activates the garden irrigation pump, the magnetic valve or a clean contact when the soil is dry and turns off when there is not enough moisture in the soil. The measuring head (supplied) must be buried in the ground at the depth where it is to be measured and must be connected to the base device via a cable. Approximately 2m of cable is included, however the sensor cable can be extended up to 20m with a normal 2-pole cable.

For example, if the garden needs to be watered at certain times of the day or only on weekdays, it is necessary to put a commercial timer before the power supply and program it accordingly. The soil moisture sensor starts working when it receives power from the mains.

Power supply via 3.5mm 12V DC bipolar jack. Also available in the version with mains power supply code M173T

Sequence of operations:

• Soil moisture is measured after switching on the operating voltage. The contact is closed for about 24 minutes if the ground is too dry.

• If the ground is moist enough, the device switches to "Pause" for about 24 minutes and takes a new measurement without activating the contact.

• This operation continues indefinitely as long as the device is powered on.
