The case mounts the Raspberry Pi on the rail vertically, sideways, with the SD card slot facing up and the connectors facing down and to the front. So it takes up much less space on the rail than other cases that mount the Pi flat against the rail.
The case clips onto the rail as usual. Hang it over the top of the rail, then twist down and it will snap to the bottom. An accessible front notch at the bottom allows you to release the spring clip as usual with a fingernail or screwdriver.
The case was based on the Pi 3 bottom and the Pi 2/3 universal plane, so it should fit Pi 3 or Pi 2. The pictures show it with a Pi 3. Like the original, the board is attached to the enclosure with M3 x 6mm machine screws (optional, not included) and the two housing halves are attached together with M3 x 16mm machine screws (included).
