The StromPi 2 expansion board is an innovation from the renowned Joy-IT Power Solution. Not only has the voltage range been increased to 6V-61V to connect eg. a greater number of batteries or batteries of greater power or voltage supplies, the StromPi 2 board now provides max. 3A of current, to power even the largest projects with more current. In addition, a reset function is now available for Raspberry Pi® which significantly expands the UPS function of the StromPi 2 board. Thanks to the new extra-thin structure and connection, the StromPi2 adapts to many housings and new areas of application. The StromPi 2 allows you to connect the Raspberry Pi® to any voltage source with the voltage range of 6V-61V, so as to offer further application options for the Raspberry Pi® (cars, ships, trucks, industrial plants, etc. ).

In addition, the RaspberryPi® optionally provides an upgrade of the USB outputs on a high power USB port, to use devices with unlimited power such as USB hard drives. The built-in UPS function provides additional power failure protection in critical applications. Using the software for the Raspberry Pi® it is possible to monitor this function and to send various messages in the event of a fault via, p. eg, e-mail. Through the efficient use of the switching regulator it is possible to use the Raspberry Pi® with a battery. Functional expansion of the UPS mode: After shutting down the Raspberry Pi® safely following a power failure thanks to StromPi, the new reset function restarts the Raspberry Pi® automatically as soon as the main power supply is available again.
