Mega 2560 is an ATmega2560 based microcontroller board. It has 52 digital I / O pins (of which 14 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (serial hardware port), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB interface, a power socket, an ICSP header and a return header and button. It contains everything you need for microcontroller assistance. Simply connect the card via USB to a computer or use it with a DC / AC adapter or battery. Mega is compatible with most of the Shields developed for Duo, Duemilanove or Diecimila.

Additional features of the R3 version are:

• ATMEGA16U2 instead of the 8U2-to-Serial converter
• pinout: added SDA and SCL pin for TWI communication
• A stronger RESET circuit

An internet connection and a PC are required for operation.
