Questo dispositivo consente di estendere reti RS422/485 oltre il limite dei 1200mt e/o dei 32 dispositivi previsti dalla specifica EIA.
Il ripetitore è dotato di isolamento galvanico fino a 3500V e di protezione dai surge 1000W da entrambe i lati.
L'apparecchio è dotato di morsetti estraibili per la connessione della I/F RS422/485.
Dispone di opto-isolatore e protezioni sovratensioni per la protezione entrambe le linee RS422/RS485.
L'ATC-109N supporta 3 modi di comunicazione:

RS422/4 fili a RS485/2 fili half duplex
L'alimentazione può essere fornita sia attraverso morsetti estraibili che tramite alimentatore 12Vdc standard (jack 2.1mm).
