This converter allows you to control any RS232 TTL 5V device (home automation systems, cameras, industrial devices) directly from a USB port of a classic PC or a Linux or Windows embedded system. It uses an FTDI chip that ensures maximum stability and compatibility. It is self-powered via the USB port.

This version produced directly by FTDI is the most reliable and professional on the market of USB RS232 TTL 5V converters. As it is produced by the house, the chip is absolutely authentic and 100% operating according to FTDI specifications.

Another advantage is the extreme compactness: it looks like a common USB cable, although at the end of the cable it has the wire connection directly to connect directly to devices or USB BUS RS232 TTL 5V with also the optional use of 5V power lines and of optional additional configurable handshake signals.

The converter does not require an external power supply.
