The ATC-106 is a compact and economical converter for connecting RS485 devices to an RS232 serial port. The female DB9 connector can be plugged directly into the male DB9 of a DTE port, such as that of a PC, providing a 2-wire RS485 interface on 2 terminals .
The converter is powered directly from the RS232 port and does not require an external power supply. This solution reduces the wiring required to integrate the RS485 interface.
Automatic control of the transmitted data direction (TXD), with declared zero-latency management, switches the communication direction of the RS485 bus. The device operates in asynchronous half-duplex mode, with alternating transmission and reception on the same pair of wires.
Suitable for connecting equipment with RS485 interface to PCs or other DTE devices equipped with RS232 port, when simple serial conversion is required without external power supply.
